Food porn: lots of chicken

indian tali plate

Part of a raid on an all you an eat Indian buffet. You should be able to spot a curry chickpea dish, some tikka chicken, vegetables, colorful rice and on top there are several vegetables deep fried in batter (pakoras).

schnitzel baguette

A baguette with some pieces of chicken schnitzel, salad and tahini sauce, with fries on the side. On non nom.
))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

hummus

Hummus by Youness, it's pretty good but there's very little of in on the plate. No refills with this one and as of late they are having a streak of bad day regarding their service and quality of food.
))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

chicken skewers

Chicken skewers and beans over white rice. The beans came in some tomato based sauce which was so natural it was almost tasteless.
))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

noodles

Spicy chicken noodles with coconut sauce and crushed peanuts on top. This was not my order - I traded mine for this since I didn't like mine and the person that ate with me didn't like his. We both were really satisfied after the trade.

Food porn: pizza and stuff

Back with another batch!
I'm kinda hungry cos I've yet eaten today and it's past lunch time. These pictures are killing me so I'll get this over with and run out to grab something.
Enjoy!

grilled cheese

Grilled cheese bagel with pesto sauce, tomatoes, corn and fried eggplants. It was better than one might imagine.

hummus

Just a plate of hummus from a place called Assaf (the name of the owner). They're really great and are easily  on the top of my favorite hummus places. There are two types of hot sauce on the table, complimentary falafel balls and relay sweet pickled cabbage that's served the moment you sit down. Their pitas are puffy and really soft.
********************************************************************************

corned beef sandwich

An amazing pastrami sandwich by Ruben. It resembles a reuben sandwich but lacks the cheese. The meat is actually somewhere between pastrami and corned-beef and it's kept in a warm humidor. It's packed with overwhelming flavor. I ordered mine with mustard, horseradish sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. They also have a pretty good turkey pastrami.
********************************************************************************

pizza and sriracha

This was actually one of the first places around to have Sriracha sauce. The pizza is so good you don't even need the sauce but still... The service is horrible but the quality of the pizza justifies a visit. This pizza is so good that it tastes amazing even after a night in the fridge - no heating.
********************************************************************************

pizza with veggie toppings

A new pizza place I tried offered free toppings so it was hard to refuse. The pizza itself was pretty much okay but the cherry tomatoes and the mushrooms were pretty great. I will order the hell out of this pizza.

Food out: eating out

Good images of good eating.
This post has no reference to me cooking or to eating at home so I though "eating out" might be a good title.
Don't have anything else to add, the images and short descriptions are going to do most of that.
Enjoy!

chicken schnitzel baguette

I was peer pressured into eating at a horrible place I had all the reasons to hate. Nothing was fresh, the way they made my food was just wrong - I mean, really, heating up a cold chicken schnitzel in a pressure toaster? That's just wrong! Somehow, the end result was a bit better than I imagined. Still not going back, ever.

green falafel

A hummus place not very far from where I live (called Youness) makes these great falafel balls. They're really green on the inside (parsley) and brown, crunch and covered with sesame on the outside. They're served with some tahini and are just delightful.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

all sorts of good

This place is called Tagine (or Tajin) after a North African dish which is called after the heavy clay post in which it is cooked. The place specializes in an assortment of home cooked dishes, home being all over the world - thus making it very multicultural and with many flavors and dishes that change daily.
You just choose what you wish to eat from the many pots and containers. I chose spaghetti, a grilled chicken breast, chicken schnitzel and some white rice (fries on top).
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

hummus hakosem

This hummus is from a place called Hakosem (the magician). They have pretty good falafel, awesome shawarma, amazing beverages they make (lemonade, a mixture of lemonade with pomegranates, a tamarind drink and some alcohol variations of the above). They hummus is mediocre but all of their other dishes are almost divine

corned beef sandwich

Corned beef on rye, with mustard and lettuce. Does it get any better? Well, it does sometime, but this was pretty amazing altogether.

Food porn: home and away

Yet another set of stuff I ate.
I know you won't enjoy this as much as I did eating, but there's some good stuff here.

prosciutto sandwich

A huge amount of prosciutto inside a soft bun. The prosciutto was really salty so I sweetened the whole thing by using date syrup as a sauce (and some mustard too). This creation made me tired, satisfied and really proud.

laffa shawarma

Shawarma in a laffa (taboon bread) roll. Along the chicken shawarma there was a salad, some fries and two sauces: tahini & amba. Quite an awesome lunch.

chicken and vegetables

Grilled chicken breast with oven baked vegetables (potatoes, yams, beets, roots and some other stuff I can't recall). This was served on plain white jasmine rice.

pulled beef bao bun

This deserves a post of its own. A wonderful place (called The Bun, as seared on the bun in the image) serving variations on Asian cuisine (noodles, soups, wok fried dishes, and this little gem). My favorite dish is a pair of steamed bao buns with pulled beef with sweet pickles and a tangy sweet sauce. If you ask nicely you can also get the same dish with pork belly (not on the menu).

Persian soup

This is just a Persian style soup that came along with some meatballs (I'll see if I can find actual pictures of them). Pretty good dish, made by my girlfriend's aunt.

Food porn: cow and chiken

This time it's mostly about the meats and one special hummus.

chicken sandwich
A place near my work mistakenly made me this sandwich - I wanted roast beef and was handed a chicken breast instead. I only noticed the error once I was back at the office but it was actually in my favor as the chicken breast was exquisite. It was incredibly moist and really flavorful.

Indian Tali

This is from one of my favorite places in the entire world. A tiny Indian place called Salam Bombay. It's run by a couple that also does the cooking and the serving and their hands just work magic. There's no menu and you can just choose from whatever dishes they prepared for the day. The place is open for 4-5 a day and is closed on weekends.

beef shoulder sandwich

This is a great sandwich with a sad story. My greenfield and I went to a hummus place in our area just to discover that it was closed for good. On our way back we bought fresh baked French country bread and wonderful slices of beef shoulder pastrami.

Abu Adham

This is from a place called Abu Adham. Their hummus is made in the northern Galilee tradition which means its light and has lots of tahini in it, it's sweeter and it is served with tons of olive oil. According to the northern hospitality tradition they also offer unlimited free refills and a cup of hot spiced coffee after you can't have anymore hummus.

Domino's

Domino's with mushrooms and hot pastrami. It was divine.

Food porn: drooling all over

I gladly present the first of a series of posts based on stuff I ate.
These shorts should be descriptive enough not to be boring and short enough to keep you reading.
Hope you enjoy.

corned beef bagel

Tal Bagles is a great place to start with. This is a poppy seed bagel with corned beef, mustard, lettuce, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and deep fried eggplants mixed with parsley. The meat was tender and you can see it's pinkish and wonderful. The mustard added a wonderful spicy kick to all the meat and vegetables.

pizza

This pizza is from an awesome tiny place called "Pizza USA". It's a father and son place, they are quite cheap and extremely tasty. Each slice is packed with simple yet amazing flavors. This place is kinda far from where I live but is well worth the drive since they deliver an old-school style pizza that takes me back to my childhood.

avocado breakfast

A simple home made breakfast of cherry tomatoes and avocado on a Jerusalem style bagel (long, narrow, coated with sesame and almost crispy).

pastrami toast

Grilled pastrami toast with mustard and pesto. The place that makes them (Suduch) gives you a glass of lemonade and a side of spicy pickles with every order.

tandoori chicken tikka

Tikka chicken made on a skewer in a tandoor oven. The chicken was soft, amazing, so rich and juicy. I was told that it was marinated with herbs over night which would explain the tenderness and moistness to it.
The onions were a bit much tho - I hate onions to the point of nausea and these were incredibly smelly.
